往往每件事情都有優點（pros）及缺點（cons）。一個最好的決定，往往是經過審慎評估利弊後取其重才能達成。所以通常在遇到難以決定的時候，我們常會說，應該要先好好想想利弊得失，然後再取得一個平衡點，就能做出最適當的決定了。

英文裡的利弊，有很多講法，可以說〞pros and cons〞，也可以用〞positives and negatives〞，〞pluses and minuses〞或者是〞upsides and downsides〞，意思都一樣，所以相當好用。.

linda：gosh, i’ ve been brainstorming with my team members for so long but we just can’ t find the perfect solution.

linda：天啊，我跟我們組員已經腦力激盪這麼久了，但還是找不到完美的解決方案。

gina：that’ s not unusual. there are two sides of everything. it’ s impossible to get all the good ones without any drawbacks.

gina：這很正常啊。凡事都有兩面，不可能都只有好的沒有壞的啊。

linda：sure, but there are so many issues to be considered and at the end, you just don’ t know how to start any more.

linda：是沒錯啦，可是有那麼多的事情要考量到，到最後反而不知從何下手了。

gina：my advice is you put down all the pros and cons first and then prioritize the most important factors. in this way, you’ ll have a very clear idea as what can be overlooked at the initial stage.

gina：我建議你先把所有的利弊得失都列出來，然後優先處理一些最重要的課題。 這樣一來，你就會有很清楚的概念，知道那些東西在初步階段是可以先忽略的。
